Tooth Colored Onlay
Your teeth are important to us here at La Jolla Del Sur Dental and that is why we offer tooth-colored onlay’s. A tooth colored onlay is similar to a crown in the sense that is made from the same porcelain material and crafted by skilled lab technicians. It takes around two appointments to put a tooth colored only in place, but the final results will blend in with your natural smile and provide the restorative care you need.
What’s the difference between an onlay and inlay?
A tooth-colored onlay is similar to an inlay. They are both used to replace a filling and are both made from porcelain by experienced lab technicians. The difference is where the onlay and inlay are placed. An inlay gets placed between the rounded cusps on top of the teeth. A tooth colored onlay, get’s placed over one or more of the tooth’s cusps. Tooth colored onlays provide more coverage than inlays but less than porcelain crowns.
